The Chilli Boys have played 11 home matches this season and won none, lost four and drawn seven. All four of their wins have come away from home.
And once again on Saturday at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium they were beaten by a Chiefs side who got on the scoresheet through Samir Nurkovic, Keagan Dolly and Cole Alexander, while Bienvenu Eva Nga scored Chippa's solitary goal.
Lentjies said post-match that his side need to 'get the monkey off our back' in terms of their dreadful home form hoodoo.
"Obviously disappointing," Lentjies told SuperSport TV.
"Like I said before the game we wanted all three points. After we conceded the first goal we were back in there. Started the second half very well and had the momentum up until about the 65th minute. But then after that we conceded. It's small elements that are killing us at the moment. Individuals making mistakes. That's something we have to live with.
"I don't believe in luck. A lot of coaches say we were lucky our unlucky. It was a chance that we missed and they also missed numerous chances but I can say we're struggling to get this monkey off our back when it comes to our home games. Fortunately enough we're playing away from home (on Tuesday)."
