Erasmus picked up an ankle injury in Sundowns' DStv Premiership clash against Stellenbosch FC in Cape Town recently.
The former SuperSport United striker could also miss the big match for The Brazilians against Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup tournament next month.
Sundowns doctor Carl Tabane has confirmed that striker Erasmus will be out of action for at least four to six weeks.
"I am happy to say it was not as bad as we thought about. He has got a grade two ankle sprain and the outlook is quite good, no operative surgery is going to be needed," said Tabane.
"The estimated return to play should be about four to six weeks and might be early because of our experience working with ankle injuries. So it's not as bad as it looked and we are happy to say he will be back soon."
