South Africa is currently in Day 1 of the national lockdown declared by President Cyril Ramaphosa on Monday, and will continue in this fashion until at least April 16.
It is for this reason that Chiefs have closed all their doors for players and staff, while fans awaiting delivery of online product purchases will have to wait until the end of next month to receive them.
"In compliance with the lockdown, we have decided to close the Kaizer Chiefs Village and all our operations during this time to ensure we play our role in helping flatten the curve and minimise the number infections," confirmed the club in a statement.
"In addition, KC DigiStore services will also be suspended until the end of April as deliveries cannot be fulfilled during this nationwide lockdown."
Amakhosi further urged patrons to exercise restraint during the COVID-19 pandemic, which has already seen two lives lost in South Africa, as of Friday, 27 March.
"The wellbeing of the supporters and South Africans is of great concern to us at this critical time. We urge the supporters to follow government guidelines regarding hygiene to ensure the wellbeing of everybody. Let's wash hands, use sanitisers and eat healthy food.
"We wish all those in the line of duty during this time lots of strength and good health as they will be providing essential services to the citizens.
"Let's spend quality time with our loved one and take care of the vulnerable ones in the spirit of Love Peace."
