Kaizer Chiefs great Zebulon 'Sputla' Nhlapo says only seven of the current Amakhosi side players could have made it into the club's 1981, 1982 and1984 all-conquering team.
In those golden years, Amakhosi had the likes of Nelson 'Teenage' Dladla, Abednigo 'Shaka' Ngcobo, Leornard 'Wagga Wagga' Likoebe, Jan 'Malombo' Lichaba, Johannes 'Ryder' Mofokeng, Simon 'Bull' Lehoko and Sylvester 'City' Kole.
Legendary Doctor Khumalo's father Eliakim 'Pro' Khumalo and former goalkeeper Joseph 'Banks' Sethlodi were coaching the 1981side.
Nhlapo believes he could be earning at least R1 million per month if he was still playing for the club today.
"There are those who deserve what they are currently earning at Chiefs, for instance, look at how Keagan Dolly has brought about change to the team, how he has helped Khama Billiat shine again," Nhlapo tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"Khama Billiat is very smart, he knows how to force an opponent to make a mistake. Look at what he did to Thulani Hlatshwayo in the Soweto derby when he intercepted that ball. That ball is the reason Hlatshwayo is no longer playing at Pirates.
"Billiat is smart, just like Ace (Ntsoelengoe).
"He was struggling when the likes of Samir Nurkovic were still getting game time, there was no synergy because those guys want aerial balls. So Billiat is from Sundowns, he plays carpet football.
"So ja, Billiat could have easily made it into our team because he is not playing aerial balls.
"Njabulo Blom, the right-back, in the middle I will take Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, Happy Mashiane… It's just that they are not given a chance these young boys.
"There is this boy from Black Leopards, Phathutshedzo Nange. Good with marking. He's good whether he's in possession of the ball or not.
"Let's not forget Njabulo Ngcobo from Swallows. He is no longer playing the number 5 position he played at Swallows. Now he has been turned into a defensive midfielder," he said.
