Chiefs & Bucs praised: 'That's what big teams do'

Mamelodi Sundowns legend Joel 'Fire' Masilela has applauded both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates for bringing in quality players to their squads.

While Pirates have added the likes of Sipho Mbule and Oswin Appollis to their team, Amakhosi have brought in exciting left-back Paseka Mako and right-back Thabiso Monyane.

Masilela says such signings will make winning the league by 12 points a thing of the past.

"It's good competition to Sundowns if Pirates and Chiefs don't just fold their arms and watch their rivals bolstering their teams," Masilela tells KickOff.

"That's what big teams do. Big clubs should play to win trophies and make their supporters happy and not allow Sundowns to dominate every transfer window.

"Nice to see both Chiefs and Pirates realising that to compete you need quality in your team.

"This is what we want to see, good football. Both teams have now tasted how good it feels to win some silverware.

"Even president Patrice Motsepe has been saying he would love to see both Pirates and Chiefs competing."
