Clayton Daniels eyeing Maritzburg United win over Kaizer Chiefs

Maritzburg United defender Clayton Daniels says he expects a very tough game against Kaizer Chiefs this time around as they are both in need of a win.

Following their 2-0 win over Amakhosi in the first round of the DStv Premiership, Daniels questioned the way their hosts played that day, even calling their mistakes schoolboy stuff.

Daniels was asked if he still feels the same way about their opponents going into today's game.

"Ja you know it always depends on the day who is hungrier, as a team, as a club. It's always on the day when you get off the bus you are ready, you are prepared to fight you know," Daniels tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"We expect a very good game from a very good team, a very good club. We must just be ready for them. Ja you know Kaizer Chiefs are in the process where they are building trying to find a lot of combinations.

"Now with the transfer ban on their neck you know, with all those things they have, with the good players they have you know and the coach, they will try to find the right combinations you know, the way he wants Chiefs to play.

"They just come from a win and on the day it will depend who's hungrier. Looking at where we are now, we have to get every point we can get. But they are in the same boat you know so it's going to be a dogfight.

"Ja we want the maximum points obviously playing at home. We want to play our normal game, we want dictate the play you know. We must take the game to them."

Daniels, though, is suspended for the game and will not have a chance to try to stop Amakhosi. Kick-off at Harry Gwala Stadium is at 18h00.
