BUCS OWNERSHIP: Jomo distances himself

Julius, the son of Bucs legend Eric 'Scara' Sono, has reportedly questioned the legality of Dr Irvin Khoza's stake in the Soweto outfit, but Jomo has made it clear that Julius’ claim has nothing to do with the Sonos.

“I have tried to avoid the issue of KK (Julius), because it is none of my business,” Jomo stresses.

“He is my half-brother, but he’s got his own mind. He does his own thing. I cannot control him. I don’t want to get involved and I can see they have tried to drag me into this, but I don’t want to get involved,” he insists.

“I’m happy where I am and we had a family meeting to discuss the matter and they all feel the same. Pirates can deal with him and I wouldn’t get involved. I can only get involved if it is my children, but he is not my child and he is a father of children. So it has nothing to do with the Sono family.

“For your information, what he has done (with Pirates) he has done it with Cosmos as well, so it is nothing new. Let Pirates handle it, because that’s their baby,” Sono adds.

The ‘Iron Duke’ also responded to Julius’ claims, saying, ‘It is really painful to see the son of an Orlando Pirates great, Eric 'Scara' Sono in such a sad state of mind’.

Khoza has been the owner of Pirates since 1991.
