Grobler's brace in the club's last DStv Premiership match against Baroka last year took his goals tally to 55 since joining United.
The Bafana Bafana striker is now two goals behind the late Abram Raselemane, who scored 57 goals for United during his time with the club.
Grobler is well aware that he can cement his status as a club legend this season, starting by taking aim at Chippa United tonight (17h00).
"I am extremely excited," Grobler tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"SuperSport United is a great club with a lot of history. The club is close to my heart. They have been good to me during good and bad times. It's nice for me to be able to repay the club where I can.
"They bought me to score goals and if I can score goals and finish as the top scorer, I will be pleased."
Grobler looks almost guaranteed to break Raselemane's record having scored seven goals in the league so far this season, with 23 matches left.
