SuperSport United's search for a first win of the season continued after a goalless draw against Royal AM on Saturday evening.
SuperSport brought in Lyle Lakay, Keanin Ayer, Siviwe Magidigidi and Brooklyn Poggenpoel after losing their opener to Mamelodi Sundowns in midweek in the Tshwane derby, with Royal giving chairman Andile Mpisane yet another start.
There weren't a lot to go between the two earlier on, with the clash pretty tense and not an expansive brand of football from either team were dished out.
SuperSport did attempt to open up matters a while later when Siphelele Ndlovu burst forward to power in a long-range shot but Xolani Ngcobo showed up and smothered.
Poggenpoel looked to go one better a couple of minutes thereafter and lined-up a ferocious shot from afar, but didn't trouble Ngcobo.
Thwihli Thwahla stayed very resolute all round but were able on a few instances to push up and get a sight to goal though failed to find the back of the net, as the half finished goalless.
Mpisane didn't come out for the second period though and was substituted for Siphesihle Msomi, while no substitutions were made by United.
The clash remained tense and refused to liven up after the interval, as the clear openings to goal continued to come in extremely short supply.
SuperSport presented more firepower in the hope of getting the winner, with development graduate Thabang Mahlangu on from the bench and Terrence Dzvukamanja withdrawn.
Midfielder Ndlovu yet again went close later on through another powerful strike from way out, but Ngcobo stood firm once more.
The balance of play remained tense as the clash began to wind down and goalless it finished out in the city of Tshwane.
