AmaZulu coach Benni McCarthy has explained his decision to bring back Siyabonga Nomvethe to be his assistant coach.
'Bhele' has been a dedicated servant of the game who played club football in Italy and made a huge impact for Bafana Bafana and in the PSL.
McCarthy says 43-year-old Nomvethe, who as of last season was still playing football, is a breath of fresh air on the touchline.
"You know I thought in football, coaching is one of the most lonely jobs," McCarthy said after securing his first win, 3-1 over Chippa United, with Nomvethe alongside him in the dugout.
"As a coach it can be lonely being out there even though you've got a team in the back, but still you are on your own. Really it seemed like I was so lonely by myself.
"But you know what, I've asked Nomvethe to join our technical team. He has been a breath of fresh air. You know he still looks like a player, he still behaves like that in the team.
"It's so important to have someone from Durban, someone from the township who comes from the ranks and played at the highest level, a Bafana Bafana legend who was my striking partner."

McCarthy says Usuthu under the new leadership and young coaches will be a fun team with flair and he enjoys working with what he has in his side.
"We have so much fun, the rest of the technical team including analysts, fitness trainers and the goalkeeper coach including the general manager, we just have fun," he added.
"This is going to be a fun team. We are going to see a fun team with goals."
Usuthu will take a break for Christmas and come back on December 28 to prepare for their fixtures in the new year. Usuthu play Bloemfontein Celtic away on January 10 before facing Kaizer Chiefs at home three days later.
It is also believed that Moeneeb Josephs could return to the club in January alongside new performance analysts and fitness trainers from Scotland.
