AmaZulu fans want Craig Rosslee out

Several fans went into the team training and voiced their unhappiness about Roslee and told general manager Peter O'Connor and Lunga Sokhela that they want the club to get rid of Rosslee.

After seven matches, Usuthu are yet to win their first game of the season and have only three points, and are positioned in 16th spot in the Absa Premiership standings.

Club publicist Philani Mabaso confirmed that a group of unhappy fans went to the team training and voiced their unhappiness about the coach.

"Yes, I can confirm that a group of about ten fans came out to a training session and spoke to team manager Peter O'Connor and also to Lunga Sokhela and told them they are unhappy with the club and want him to be replaced as he was not delivering the goods," Mabaso tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"Training was not disrupted but some of the fans were throwing some harsh words towards the coach, telling him to leave the club as they are not happy with him and told him to leave the club. The coach continued with the training and never answered back at any of the fans. The rumours of the fans having chased the coach away from training are not true."

Such incidents are not very common in South African soccer training but it once happened in 2001 when Gordon Igesund was still the coach at Orlando Pirates when he was assaulted together with then-goalkeeper Grant Johnson and both were told by the fans to leave the club.

Attempts to get a comment from Rosslee drew blank as the coach was not available on his cellphone.
