If the words of a former Mamelodi Sundowns playmaker are anything to go by, Orlando Pirates may as well throw in the towel with immediate effect when it comes to the Betway Premiership title race.
Currently, Sundowns and Pirates are separated by 12 points with the season having reached the business end.
The Tshwane giants pretty much need a win in the next encounter against Stellenbosch FC to secure their eighth league title in as many years.

"For Sundowns, securing three points against Chippa United is not just about winning the league, it's about maintaining momentum as they prepare for the first leg of the CAF Champions League final. To keep the players' confidence high, they need to keep winning," notes the legendary Roger Feutmba in a phone call with KickOff.com.
"Yes, Pirates may be putting some pressure on Sundowns, but pressure is beneficial in football. Being under pressure helps maintain focus.
"I still believe that at the end of the season, Sundowns will be champions, not Pirates. Although Pirates are applying some pressure, it’s a bit too late in the season.
"The advantage Sundowns have is their consistency, making them the most reliable team in our league," he continues.
The former playmaker, however, credits the Buccaneers, saying the pressure they have put on the defending champions has added excitement to the league.

"Sundowns will cross the finish line and be crowned champions - I have no doubt about that. Only teams that maintain consistency throughout the season win the league, and Sundowns are excelling at that."
