Puma and Morgan Rogers score biggest goal to kick-off EPL season

Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers has scored the first and arguably the most symbolic goal to start the 2025/26 Premier League season, launching a Puma football through London’s iconic Tower Bridge in a striking promotional event.

The German multinational was announced as the league’s new partner back in June, with all official matches set to feature Puma footballs throughout the season.

In a media release shared with KickOff, PUMA offered insight into the technology and feel of the new ball, giving fans and players a taste of what to expect on the pitch this season.

"The PUMA Orbita Ultimate PL match ball is comprised of 12 evenly sized panels to ensure precise weight distribution, keeping the ball perfectly balanced," read the statement.

"The high-frequency moulding guarantees long-lasting durability with enlarged and deeper seams to improve aerodynamics, shape retention, and a soft touch with every kick, no matter the pitch or weather."

Meanwhile, Rogers also had something to say about his goal.

"It was great to be involved in something of this magnitude! It was one of the more open goals I’ve scored in my career and hopefully the first of many this season."

The ball will make its on-pitch debut during the first match round of the Premier League from 15 August.

The PUMA Orbita Ultimate PL match ball is available at PUMA.com, in PUMA retail stores, Totalsports, Sportsmans Warehouse, Studio 88 and JD Sports.
