Despite being nominated in five categories, Khanye tips Mamelodi Sundowns' dangerman Lucas Ribeiro Costa for the 2024/2025 Footballer of the Season award. The striker also
"Unfortunately for Mofokeng and Keletso Makgalwa, Lucas Ribeiro is our footballer of the season, he is a star, it's unfortunate that during the first season he suffered a setback due to injury, but his second season he showed he is on the level of his own," Khanye tells KickOff.

"To be honest, Ribeiro deserves both the Footballer of the Season and the Players Player of the Season awards. We all saw how he performed against men in the Club World Cup.
"And Mofokeng, he is the best talent, he is the face of South African young footballers. He is even better than most senior players in the PSL. He plays like a seasoned player. Mofokeng is the only player closest to Ribeiro, hence being nominated five times. It's unfortunate he is competing against a complete player like Ribeiro.
"I expect Mofokeng to win at least three of the awards he is nominated in, he is a star with a bright future ahead of him. Young Player of the Season award is guaranteed for him to win. He will win it.
"We'll done to Jose Riveiro for bringing out the best out of the boy."
