A respected figure from within the Cape Town Spurs camp has expressed his readiness to lead the team back to professional football if ever called upon.
Spurs will be competing in the ABC Motsepe League next season after suffering relegation from the second tier. .

There is little chance of head coach Ernst Middendorp dropping down to amateur level with the Ikamva-based outfit.
Conversely, Benson Mhlongo, who has been serving as his assistant since Vasili Manousakis left to take up an assistant coach role with Kenya, is quite familiar with the league, where he has previously coached several clubs.
"As a coach, I’m prepared to help wherever I’m needed," declares the former footballer.
"I just want to assist these young players in progressing in their careers, regardless of the division. I aim to impart knowledge wherever possible. I will listen to the team’s plans going forward.
"It’s up to the young players to help lead the team back to the Premier League. However, they should also consider that many of them have families, so it’s ultimately their decision where they want to play next season.
"At Cape Town Spurs, we have development structures in place. If there are players who are willing to stay and help in the ABC (Motsepe League), that’s great, it's a bonus.

"You cannot dictate to someone what they should or shouldn’t do. So, these boys will decide for themselves where they want to be," adds the man from Alexandra.
