Coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has reflected on his winning start at Orlando Pirates, who defeated Polokwane City on Saturday afternoon.
Goals from new signing Oswin Appollis and Patrick Maswanganyi guided the Soweto giants to a 2-0 victory and a spot in the semi-finals.

Despite the win, Ouaddou cautions the work is far from done following their recently concluded pre-season tour of Spain.
“Very happy for the points (win), I’m very proud of them because we had a very technical plan, we wanted to play with a high intensity since the beginning to put pressure on the team, it’s what we done,” Ouaddou told SuperSport TV.
“I think it was a good game for our fans as well; we wanted to give them a good game. We have been training in Spain for a long time, but now they can see a little bit of the team. But it’s still something to improve, not everything was perfect but at least I’m happy for the first game,” added the Moroccan-born.
Some of the other new recruits like Yanela Mbuthuma, Tshepang Moremi, Abdoulaye Mariko and development graduate Cemran Dansin also got a run-out as a second half substitutes.
Appollis, who joined the Buccaneers for Polokwane in the off-season, stole the show and claimed the man of the match accolade on the day.
“I’m happy for him [Appollis], you know Appollis for a long time. When he is surrounded with good players you can even see the best of him, but not only him. I want to congratulate all my boys, he took the best man – man of the match because of the collective."
