Chiefs advanced through the Last 32 after beating GladAfrica Championship side Royal Eagles 1-0 at FNB Stadium on Saturday evening.
They join the likes of Mamelodi Sundowns, who skipped past SuperSport United on Saturday, and Bidvest Wits, who eliminated Orlando Pirates on Sunday.
Amakhosi though, have drawn lower division sides in the early rounds of the competition for the past three consecutive seasons and are known to often have a hard time against the so-called 'minnows', having lost last season's final to TS Galaxy and previously being eliminated by first division sides such as Baroka, FC Cape Town and AmaTuks.
With a number of lower division sides still remaining in the competition, many supporters will be hoping to avoid another potential upset and embarrassing exit, but Middendorp insists he is ready to face whoever the draw spits at them.
"I think everybody should follow the wishes from other decorated coaches, I don't have any [preferences], we take whatever is coming along," responded the German.
Meanwhile, Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has requested a tie against ABC Motsepe League outfit Amavarara FC, while calling on Wits coach Gavin Hunt to deal with Chiefs.
