Siphelele Mthembu says Kaizer Chiefs must win

Amakhosi won both the League and MTN8 trophies last season, and will continue their defence of the latter when they face Bloemfontein Celtic in the first leg of the semifinal tomorrow.

Mthembu is hoping that winning the Cup will give them the same momentum which drove them to success last season.

"We are ready to work with the coach for the club and also for the supporters. We need to keep going like we did last season," he says.

"It is our culture to win something every season and if we can win this one, it will give us motivation in the season to go on and win other cups."

Mthembu acknowledges that Celtic will be a tough hurdle to overcome.

“They are tricky; we have watched their previous games but I can't judge them on that game because when they play against Chiefs they raise the bar … they want to go more."
