Orlando Pirates booked their seats in the MTN8 semi-finals with a 2-0 win over competitions debutants Royal AM on Saturday.
Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns and AmaZulu also booked their places after seeing off Stellenbosch, SuperSport United and Cape Town City respectively.
The draw for the semi-final fixtures took place last night and has served up a clash between the Buccaneers and Mamelodi Sundowns, while Kaizer Chiefs will take on AmaZulu.
In his response to the fixtures, Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro remains optimistic about his side's chances.
"It's going to be an interesting duel. It's going to be one month in between before we play the first game so it's difficult to estimate how good the team are going to be at that moment. In terms of fitness and confidence," he said.
"But basically I think it's going to be attractive matches for the fans, plenty of emotions with two good teams and a pitch full of quality players. Probably it will be decided in the second game."
Sundowns recently flexed their prowess with a 4-0 demolition of fellow semi-finalists Kaizer Chiefs but Riveiro is confident his side can knock out Sundowns and go all the way to win it.
"We are very motivated to go until the end of this competition. Of course, once you're in the semi-finals you cannot expect an easy opponent and we got a very good one, and we will be ready," he added
The MTN8 is the last piece of silver the Buccaneers have lifted after winning it in 2020 and it's the only trophy they've won in the last seven years.
Official dates for the semi-final clashes are yet to be announced.
