Pelembe gaining confidence at Bidvest Wits after leaving Mamelodi Sundowns

The Mozambican winger set up Henrico Botes’s goal in the 3-1 win over SuperSport United a fortnight ago, before opening his account in the 2-1 win over Ajax Cape Town last weekend.

Following a lacklustre end to his Mamelodi Sundowns career, in which he only managed 10 starts last season, ‘Dominguez’ feels he is gaining momentum but concedes he is yet to hit full fitness.

“I feel motivated; I always want to play and motivate [my teammates],” says Pelembe.

“I’m feeling a little bit confident because I’ve started very well, I’ve scored one goal, so we’ll see what’s going to happen as the season progresses.

“I’ve been playing but I think I’m not 100 percent fit. I’m still working towards to getting there.”

Looking ahead at their MTN8 semi-final first leg clash away to The Urban Warriors on Saturday, the 31-year-old expects a tough game.

“I think games are different; we won in the League match and I think this one will be a different game.

“It will be tough because we are playing away in Cape Town, against a very good team, but we’ll try [to win] and see what the outcome will be,” he adds.

Ajax welcome The Clever Boys to the Coetzenburg Stadium in Stellenbosch, with kick-off set for 20h15.

Tickets are on sale at R60 (West stand), R40 (rest of stadium) and R10 for kids under the age of 12.
