Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane pleased with the performances of Wayne Arendse and Motjeka Madisha

Goals from Sibusiso Vilakazi and Wayne Arendse ensured the Brazilians became the first side to advance to the MTN8 semi-finals.

Mosimane praised his sides's defensive work against the likes of Knox Mutizwa and Lerato Lamola.

“Our centre-backs were solid because to play against (Lerato) Lamola and (Knox) Mutizwa is not easy. (Motjeka) Madisha and Wayne (Arendse) did well. Wayne did not play last week and he did well, and he scored. I am happy when my centre-backs are scoring at set-pieces, it is beautiful,” Mosimane told SuperSport TV.

“The captain (Hlompho Kekana) looked fresh because we dropped him on Tuesday this past week. Andile (Jali) looks good and he showed his experience, he shows leadership.

“Arrows looked good at times and you can see they can play, but our defence was better.”

Mosimane also shared his thoughts on his side's opening goal involving the Sundowns attackers.

“The players are smart and they are good with interplay. I can’t teach that. They are smart and the first goal scored by Villa (Sibusiso Vilakazi) was a beautiful goal, it was well-taken and well-finished. But the team misses a lot, but they just don’t kill the game. The final pass in the final third is not good enough,” concluded the Sundowns coach.
