Komphela: Defending MTN8 will ease pressure on Kaizer Chiefs

Chiefs face Bloemfontein Celtic in the first leg of their semi-final at Free State Stadium on Sunday, having defeated Maritzburg United 5-3 in the opening round of the competition.

Komphela will hope for a better display from his charges following their goalless League draw against ten-man Chippa United in Port Elizabeth last weekend.

"We take it as one game. First half in Bloem and second half in Johannesburg," said Komphela, who replaced Stuart Baxter at Naturena in June.

"Winning the MTN8 will take the pressure off everyone.

"Our motivation is simple. We have to win it because we are the defending champions."

In Amakhosi team news, strikers Bongani Ndulula and Siphelele Mthembu could make their return from injury, but Morgan Gould, Siphiwe Mtsweni and Daniel Cardoso remain sidelined with their respective knocks.
