Katsande: Chiefs philosophy the same under Komphela ahead of MTN8 semi with Bloem Celtic

Chiefs claimed League and MTN8 honours with Stuart Baxter at the helm last term, with Komphela assuming the reins in June after leading Maritzburg United to their first ever top-eight finish in 2014/15.

The Glamour Boys started the season with a come-from-behind 5-3 win over Maritzburg in the MTN8 before drawing 0-0 with Chippa United in the League last weekend.

"We still have the same core of the team. The philosophy stays the same," Katsande said ahead of his side's MTN8 semi-final with Bloemfontein Celtic at Free State Stadium on Sunday.

The 29-year-old expects a stern test against Phunya Sele Sele.

"We know to play against Celtic away is very tough. We have prepared well, we need a positive result in the first leg. We know the challenge ahead of us. We just need to be focused."

The Zimbabwean added that he will not temper his combative playing style, an approach that has swiftly endeared him to Komphela.

"I'm not going to change the way I play," said Katsande.

Komphela said: "I love Willard Katsande like I don't know what. Coaches love those kind of players."
