Amakhosi and Bloemfontein Celtic will do battle for a place in the Final of the 'winner-takes-all' competition on Saturday. A goalless draw will be enough for Chiefs to march on to the Final after playing to 1-1 away draw in the first leg of the semi-finals.
Khune is hoping to retain the trophy the Naturena-based side won in some style last year by going all the way without conceding a goal to bank a whopping R8 million.
"We're all aware that each and very game we play in the MTN8 is worth R2 million," Khune told a giggling media contingent on Thursday.
"So at the moment it's now R4 million in the bank. We're R4 million away from completing the R8 million.
"But it's not going to be easy. You know how good Celtic are but they are coming to FNB Stadium and you know when teams come there what happens."
Steve Komphela's side has already conceded four goals in the Top 8 competition, a far cry from last season's miserly defence that was marshaled by former captain Tefu Mashamaite.
"It's very important to keep a clean sheet as a home team," says Khune who was in goal in the reverse fixture.
"We went away and we were 1-0 down and we showed character by getting back into the match and getting the important away goal. We know how good they are.
"It's going to be important that we remain disciplined and remain focused for 90 minutes and not concede any goals. If we don't concede then we're through to the Final."
