The Portuguese striker, a former youth international, was unveiled by the club on Tuesday and has been trying to settle in as he looks to make his debut in the MTN8 this weekend.
While players from Europe have often failed in the PSL, Hunt feels the 22-year-old has a big chance to shine in the PSL.
“Players who come from Europe come with a reputation and struggle in this country,” Hunt says.
“The players in South Africa, they run faster than the ball, when in Europe the ball moves faster than the player. That's a problem; that's why European players take time to adjust in South Africa.
“But I think the striker [Lupeta] will do well. At least he will give us variations at times when we have to play differently and when we give people rest. It takes time to gel, but he has huge potential.”
Hunt also expressed his disappointment in losing the services of Roggert Nyundu, who has since returned to Black Leopards.
“It was disappointing to have worked with him for two weeks, only to find out that there was something elsewhere.”
