Ea Lla Koto lost 3-0 for the second time in three matches after also suffering defeat by the same scoreline in their opening match of the league season against Bidvest Wits.
Eymael was with how his side communicated, which led to the opening two goals for Chiefs.
“We were lacking especially on the wings. We were overloading the midfield, we studied everything. I gave them the information unfortunately our communication was not good,” the Belgian told SuperSport TV.
“It’s how we conceded the first goal and the same thing on the second goal despite the fact that I rectified somethings at halftime. There was still room for a comeback. I’m disappointed with some of the players today.
“Once they came in [substitutions] they didn’t add any value unfortunately we got an injury... but we are conceding too many goals. It’s not normal now, we conceded three the first game. We won the second game but now three again, some of my players are showing lack of character. I’m not happy at all about that,” he continued.
“I’m sure if we had scored one goal Chiefs would’ve panicked and we would have come back like the PSL game we saw between Highlands Park and Black Leopards [on Thursday] but to provoke that you need to push harder, press harder.
“There were too many players not at their level, I’m sorry to say that. I like them a lot, I appreciate them it’s my boys but when it’s good I say it’s good when it’s not good I have to say the truth,” he said.
Eymael went on to accuse his charges of being comfortable after winning the Nedbank Cup.
“We live to fight another day, I hope we will bounce back in the league. Today it’s very painful for us to lose 3-0 against Kaizer Chiefs. Some of my players I think still have the Nedbank Cup victory in their head they need to come back to the pitch and play a little bit,” he concluded.
