Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt solely focused on getting past Golden Arrows in MTN8

The Wits mentor was carefuly not to get ahead of himself though, refusing to think about the final before navigating the first hurdle.

“It’s going to be a difficult game for us. So, we have to be at our best to advance,” Hunt said.

“Our expectation is to try and get through the first round – can’t be thinking about the final. It’s a knockout and we all know and I hope we do well [today].”

Hunt, who also won the Absa Premiership with Wits last season, added that they’ve tried a few different formations during pre-season.

“We’ve tried [a] few [formations] obviously in pre-season, systems and all that other stuff, but football doesn’t lie, the game always dictates what is best for us.”

Wits fans will be also hoping to see former Bafana Bafana captain Steven Pienaar making his debut for The Clever Boys in the MTN8 against Abafana Bes'thende tonight.
