Marumo Gallants FC seems determined to make a strong effort to snatch a striker from Durban City FC.
As previously reported by KickOff, Gallants are one of the first clubs to express an interest in Jean Lwamba, who is currently on the books of Botswana club Tafic FC.
The 2024/25 Botswana Premier League Player of the Season was also the joint top goalscorer in the with 15 goals.
Currently, Lwamba is in KwaZulu-Natal, where he is expected to sign a contract with newly-promoted Durban City FC. However, with Gallants showing interest, Durban City may risk losing the talented striker if they do not act quickly.
"Lwamba is in Durban to sign with Durban City, but Marumo Gallants have submitted a late bid. He is in Durban as we speak. The boy is not there for assessment; he is there to sign," a source revealed to KickOff.
So far, Durban City has announced several new signings, including defender Liam De Kock, Ghanaian goalkeeper Fredrik Asare, Upington City FC forward Trevor Mokwena, midfielder Brooklyn Poggenpoel, and former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Darren Keet.
