Mamelodi Sundowns' stance in matters relating to the contractual situation of Themba Zwane has left the veteran midfielder walking as a free agent with effect from July 1.
Based on what has been put in public, Zwane's contract expired on June 30, which effectively makes him available on the market as a free agent.

Whispers suggest no agreement has been reached in keeping Zwane at Chloorkop, where he has had a contract since January 2011.
Zwane joined Sundowns from the amateur club Vardos and has never known of a professional contract at any other club besides Sundowns, where he has signed several deals.
His package has been on the up since the first contract that he signed, which ran up to June 30, 2014, which was when he returned from a season-long loan spell at Mpumalanga Black Aces.
The performances that Mshishi has given at Sundowns over the last decade have meant an upward spiral with his package.
Players in his category are on annual packages standing at a minimum of R5 million.

The only issue that could be raised about Mshishi is age as he turns 35 in August, but all of that is overshadowed by what he gives on the field.
Zwane has contributed immensely in winning silverware every season with the club over the last 10 years that he has spent at Chloorkop.
He has averaged close to 2900 minutes every season for a decade, numbers that have not been matched by anyone at the club.
An average of almost 40 every season is further evidence of what Zwane brings to Sundowns.

The least number of games that the lad from Tembisa has played in a single season over the last 10 years with the champions is 29.
What he has done at Sundowns is the reason why he has played in all but one of the last 15 Bafana Bafana games.
