Chiefs legend throws support behind Andile Jali

Kaizer Chiefs legend Willard Katsande has thrown his support behind Andile Jali who is set to become a free agent when his contract with Mamelodi Sundowns expires at the end of the season.

The 33-year-old's time with Sundowns is understood to be over, with his current deal with the Brazilians coming to end on 30 June.

Jali remains not short of suitors and although he is yet to reveal his decision on his next club, has been linked with several Premiership teams including Cape Town City, AmaZulu and Royal AM.

Willard Katsande, who had many duels against Jali while at Kaizer Chiefs and Sekhukhune United, believes whichever club wins the race for the former Pirates midfielder's signature would have hit the jackpot.

"Whoever is going to sign Andile Jali next season, I guarantee you that the team will excel. The guy brings experience and appearance charisma," Katsande wrote on Twitter.

Jali made 15 appearances this season, a far cry from the 40 he accumulated in the 21/22 campaign.

Meanwhile, Sundowns are set to be crowned DStv Premiership champions for a sixth consecutive time after their final match of the season against relegation-threatened Maritzburg United at Loftus Versfeld on Tuesday night.

Kick-off is at 19:30.
