Cape Town City young star Emile Witbooi has confidently made a bold promise to the club's supporters following the team’s relegation from the Betway Premiership.

Their demotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship marks a disappointing end to a turbulent year for the Cape-based side, who are deemed one of the top teams in South African football.
Witbooi made several appearances during the season, impressing with his composure on the ball and flashes of creativity in midfield.
Although still early in his professional career, his energy and determination have been a bright spot in an otherwise challenging season for the John Comitis-owned club.
However, despite the setback, the 16-year-old star, who spent a one-month trial with English Premier League giants Chelsea’s Under-18s last year, is confident the team will bounce back to the top tier soon.
"We gave it everything this year, but in the end was not meant to be," Witbooi wrote.
"Do not doubt us Citizens, we will not stop until this club is where it belongs.
"Long live City! It comes to an end, thank you."

As City prepares for life in the second division, supporters will be hoping Witbooi’s promise and performances spark a new chapter of revival and resilience.
Nonetheless, recent reports suggest that the Citizens boss could secure top-tier status through a purchase, paving the way for a swift return, but whether that will happen remains to be seen.
