Massive reality check for Foster at Burnley

With Lyle Foster enjoying his holidays in South Africa, the Burnley FC star has been handed a reality check following the release of the 2025/26 Premier League fixtures. Here's a look!

The story

Foster recently organised a five-a-side tournament at Coalition Fives Randpark in Johannesburg, with the winners claiming a R15 000 cash prize.

Judging by the turnout, the event was a success.

However, despite Foster’s charitable initiative, he has now received a harsh reminder of what lies ahead.

The Premier League has announced the fixtures for the 2025/26 season, with Burnley facing a tough opening schedule.

The newly promoted side will take on several major opponents in the first two months — August and September.

Interestingly, Foster’s team will face four of the traditional 'big six' English clubs during this period.

The Clarets will kick off their campaign with an away trip to Tottenham Hotspur, the reigning UEFA Europa League champions.

They will also face Manchester United and Liverpool in back-to-back Premier League encounters.

Clearly, Foster won’t have an easy start upon his return to the English top flight, giving him something to seriously consider during the off-season.

Here are Burnley’s first six fixtures in the 2025/26 Premier League:

Away vs Tottenham Hotspur

Home vs Sunderland

Away vs Manchester United

Home vs Liverpool

Home vs Nottingham Forest

Away vs Manchester City
