Plum accents appear in the club’s devil crest, adidas logo, three shoulder stripes, and accompanying shorts.
In a statement on Manutd.com, Jurgen Rank, senior design director at adidas, said: “For this season’s away jersey we wanted to reimagine one of the club’s most iconic graphics of the past, and reinterpret it for the modern day in a bold new way through an updated colour palette.
"The rich purples work in harmony with the white base and metallic detailing, and we’re excited to see it on-pitch and in the stands this season.”
Designed for both performance and style, the on-field version of the jersey incorporates advanced materials to maximise airflow and keep players cool.
The fan version features sweat-wicking technology to help keep supporters dry and comfortable.
Manchester United will debut the strip in Saturday’s pre-season friendly against Leeds United in Stockholm, broadcast live on MUTV.
