Lorch spent the second half of the 2024/25 season on loan at Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club.
He joined the Botola Pro League side in January 2025 under the leadership of then-coach Rulani Mokwena and quickly made an impact.
The former Orlando Pirates fan-favourite shone particularly during Wydad’s recent campaign at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, raising his profile and reinforcing his value on the continental stage.
Impressed by his performances, Wydad expressed interest in securing Lorch on a permanent basis. However, negotiations between the Moroccan outfit and Sundowns reportedly hit a snag over financial terms, halting any potential deal.
Now back in South Africa, Lorch has returned to training, albeit on his own, as preparations begin for the new season. Still under contract with Masandawana, his immediate future remains uncertain.
It remains to be seen whether he will stay at Sundowns, be loaned out again, or move permanently elsewhere. For now, Lorch remains committed to his fitness:
