Broos eyes WC spot by mingling with World champs!

Having previously met in March 2025, it now appears that South Africa's men's rugby and football coaches, Rassie Erasmus and Hugo Broos, enjoyed another encounter amid plans to collaborate. Here's a look!

The story

In March this year, coach Rassie took to social media, revealing that he had a lovely encounter with Broos.

It was soon revealed that the two tacticians were planning to collaborate more in the future and share their sporting and leadership philosophies.

The pair are also said to be hoping to facilitate cross-sport collaboration between rugby and football, with Rassie inviting Broos to future Boks training sessions.

It appears that the two masterminds met again this past week, with Broos spotted alongside Rassie and Boks captain Siya Kolisi at Ellis Park Stadium.

Moreover, Broos was seen wearing a Boks jersey among supporters during the home side's match against Australia this past weekend.

Broos' work with Bafana Bafana is set to resume very soon, as his side prepares for two crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in September.

Bafana will play Lesotho on 5 September before facing Nigeria four days later, with both fixtures scheduled to be played at the Free State Stadium.
