Mamelodi Sundowns have parted ways with former SA under-23 talent Keletso Makgalwa, who is now a free agent.

Makgalwa returned to Sundowns at the end of the 2022/23 DStv Premiership campaign, after spending the second round of the last season on loan with Motsepe Foundation Championship side, All Stars.

The pacey 26-year-old winger was reportedly training with Masandawana's reserves, seemingly not in Rulani Mokwena's first team plans.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Downs part ways with former Under-23 star" story:

"This boy is good. Maybe he is a bit lazy at training but the talent is there. When he was playing in the MDC, he was scoring for fun.

"Pitso promoted him and was not playing regularly but whenever he got a chance, he didn't disappoint. He's a great finisher and I remember he was nicknamed Aguero because of his finishes. He must just focus and work hard. The age is still on his side. Good luck boy," says Minwana Phezulu.

"We were told that he's the Romario of SA football, but he was chased by Maritzburg United..." says Football psychology.

"Who told you that? Maybe you were dreaming. Kaizer Senior told the world that Jasond Gonzalez has no time to waste. He was going to hit the ground running. We are still waiting," replies thulamda.

"Keletso was a promising star, I wonder what happened," says BrutuswamaJuju.

"Lucky, Calves got a parole while Sirino will rot there," says Khosilannete0.

"You want him released so that Bobby can get him for free? Ngeke," replies Saavedra who added:

"Bobby must be smiling."

"I would be smiling as well. Keletso Makgalwa is a damn good player. We are still lacking upfront. For long, I've been salivating about this player. He proved his worth during Pitso's time and even then, he was not a regular but every time he got a run he wouldn't disappoint.

"He can't be a bad player overnight. I know a good player when I see one. Kaizer Chiefs please sign him before Bucs overtake us," responds gsithole.

"Thank you so much, I like this. To add to what you said, we forget how he also delivers goals, a different version of attack minded Ndlondlo, period," replies tebellosp.

"My leader, I rate this boy highly. He just needs to sort out his attitude and knuckle down for some hard work. It was stated in one of the articles concerning him that he didn't work hard enough at his previous teams because he was still under contract at Downs and was remunerated handsomely.

"The comfort zone is gone. He has no choice but to step up his game, which I have no doubt he will do," replies gsithole.

The South African Football Association has suspended match official Luxolo Badi following his controversial refereeing decisions in Kaizer Chiefs MTN8 loss to Mamelodi Sundowns.

Amakhosi crashed out of the competition after a 2-1 defeat to Masandawana, with a 3-2 aggregate over two legs. Badi's failure to award Chiefs a penalty in stoppage time after Mdu Mdantsane was seemingly impeded in the box, has come under massive scrutiny, resulting in a four-week suspension.

Over the four weeks, SAFA's head of referees Abdul Ebrahim revealed that Badi will be put into a rehabilitation programme and could restart in either the Motsepe Foundation Championship or the DStv Premiership, depending on the report sent back to SAFA after the four-week course.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Referee suspended after controversial Chiefs penalty incident" story:

"Chiefs must get the taste of their own medicine with their poor history of robbing clubs. They think they're special. Now we know how they win. Because they're not doing well, they'll cry like babies, especially their fans," says Tekenya wale downs.

"For me, none of this helps. Chiefs being out to suspend him won't do anything to the team that was robbed. Yes, mistakes happen, but those weren't mistakes at all.

"You can't flop three times in one game," says mlekeleli.

"We hope Mr Ace Ncobo and his emotional friends will suspend refs consistently whenever there is a so-called 'flop' or blunder," says truthngezana1.

"Gross misconduct is a sackable offense in my industry, so is this suspension a lead up to a disciplinary hearing? In order for our football to improve and progress, those who bring it into disrepute must be held accountable.

"What is the progress in PSL's VAR application from FIFA," says DigitalP.

"Players jump in front of other opposing players all the time to shield the ball. Are you now telling us that other teams' players must start kicking the likes of Teboho Mokoena, who use their bodies to shield the ball? Come on," says msanisto.

"So, he is just suspended for one of many blunders that he committed that day? He should be suspended for a year, for every one of them.

"We should never see his brown-enveloped face again for the next three years," says siyaz.

"Refs have been robbing teams for decades and this head of refs kept quiet. But now, that his beloved team suffered, he is making emotional decisions.

"I hope the same thing happens to them in the Nedbank Cup, just like they did against Stellies last season in the MTN8," says Dominate-downs.

"Yes, the referee is suspended, but what about the impact it has on Chiefs? How is that going to be factored in?

"Last time, the same thing happened to Chiefs. At stake, was three points. Sundowns won with a goal scored by a player who was offside.

"Why were the corrections not made accordingly? In this regard, it was going to be a draw, credit Chiefs with one point and minus two points from Sundowns.

"This means on two occasions; Sundowns were assisted to win against Chiefs by referees?" says Boss Ngida.

"That's a very good precedent but in the other match, Hlanti handled the ball inside his own penalty box. Guess what happened? Dololo..." says fando002.

"A club that benefitted only last year in the same cup against Stellenbosch, is now busy making noise. Chiefs has no shame," says Sva2022.

"VAR is the only solution," says george.chauke2.

"The suspension of 4 weeks is not enough, compared to the many errors committed by the ref. If SAFA really want to assist the refs to manage games better, they must introduce VAR," says raganyahlomo.

"No ways!! This man must never be allowed to officiate a game in this country ever again. I proposed that Sundowns be treated in a similar manner that Juve was in Serie A.

"It seems that this review committee has no teeth, and we will continue to experience this corruption just after four weeks?! Man up and get this man off our games. Sundowns needs to face the music, there is no place to hide on this one," says khothakhosi.
