The artwork accompanying the statement further revealed that it is the Soweto Giants Kaizer Chiefs that has signed Dortley, making his the third signing by Amakhosi, although the club is yet to formally announced.
Dortley was one of the break-out stars of the 23/24 season, featuring 28 times for Spurs who get relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship after a disastrous campaign.

Nevertheless, the left-footed centre-back impressed enough to be part of the Bafana Bafana squad that went to the COSAFA Cup in June, where he was also named captain.
For Chiefs, Dortley provides more options with his versatility, as he can play as a centre-back, left back and a defensive midfielder. Amakhosi have already signed Bongani Sam and Fiacre Ntwari as their first two signings ahead of the 24/25 season.
