Big week at Naturena: Chiefs' new signing enters final hours

Kaizer Chiefs' latest signing Inacio Miguel is understood to be in the final hours of finalising his move to the Soweto giants.

Following weeks of speculation, Amakhosi supporters look set to officially meet their latest recruit in the form of centre-back Miguel.

Information reaching this website is that the 28-year-old has already agreed verbal terms with his new club, although his move is still subject to a medical to be undergone at Kaizer Chiefs Village this week, before his official unveiling.

Miguel himself has taken to social media platform Instagram to drop a subtle hint on his pending move after sharing a snap from inside a plane, presumably headed for South Africa.

The move to Chiefs will make the defender the side's fifth signing for the window so far, with Fiacre Ntwari, Bongani Sam, Gaston Sirino and Rushwin Dortley already secured and training with the Glamour Boys ahead of the new season.

However, the Angolan's arrival still presents a slight challenge for the Soweto giants, who currently already have five foreign players in their squad – the maximum allowed by the league.

This essentially means Chiefs will still have to let go – either via loan or outright sale – one foreign player.

The five players who fill up the foreign spots are Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, Edmilson Dove, Christian Saile, Edson Castillo and Ntwari.

Early indications are that the Naturena-based side could de-register Dove, who is still sidelined with a lengthy injury sustained during Amakhosi's pre-season tour in Turkey.

Meanwhile, having missed out on MTN8 action, Chiefs will only return to competitive action on September 14 when they take on Marumo Gallants at the venue where they last played competitive football, Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein.
