In this edition of My Locker Room Secrets, former Kaizer Chiefs full-back Isaac Mabotsa reveals the behind-the-scenes details in the Amakhosi change room.
The right-back spent two seasons at Amakhosi following his promotion from the club's reserve side in 1999.

"Isaac Mabotsa."
Who was always late?
"The late Thabang Lebese. That guy was always full of stories.
"You see that road close to Naturena, before the entrance of the old gate. Thabang would park his car there and smear some oil on his hands. Pretending as if he was fixing it.
"He'd come running towards the coach and start explaining to coach Paul Dolezar to explain the problem with his car, why he decided to leave it in the township blah, blah!
"But now the thing is, while we were busy with our warm-up, our coach Dolezar was also moving around the training pitch.
"So, when Dolezar lifted his head and looked around, he spotted Thabang's car parked nicely on the side of the road near the Kaizer Chiefs Village's old entrance.
"Dolezar started shouting, he's lying, he's lying, I can see his car over there!"
Any interesting rituals before they played?
"Patrick Mbuthu once missed out on a national under-23 call-up because of a hamstring injury.
"The next thing when he reported for training at Naturena, he came with a huge pink tub of Vaseline. He was busy saying, I'm tired now I have had it. You guys have been bewitching me for too long now. This ends today."
Who was the jokester?
"Jabu Pule and Cyril Nzama. They were always on each other's cases."
Was it a muti change room?
"We all had different beliefs, people would do things individually, but as a team, we prayed a lot. Marco Mthembu was our pastor."
Who was the singer?
"Cyril Nzama."
Who was the best dressed and worst dressed?
"Best dressed, I will give it to Thabo Mooki, he had all the latest labels.
"Worst dressed, I will give that one to Ace Mbuthu, he was always in the club's uniform."

"Muhsin Ertugral and Pitso Mosimane did it for me. Ertugral, from far looked scary, but to be honest, he was very understanding."
