Kaizer Chiefs' George Matlou has provided some context behind viral video footage showing the midfielder still dressed in his Nedbank Cup final kit seemingly days after lifting the cup.
Amakhosi defeated rivals Orlando Pirates 2-1 in the final played at Moses Mabhida Stadium a little less than two weeks ago, and in doing so, ended a 10-year silverware famine.

The celebrations are understood to have gone long into that Saturday night, but fans were still somewhat amused to see Matlou still in his kit, as shown in videos that emerged in the following days.
"It was a great feeling for me, so I had to express my feelings, of course,” Matlout explained to journalists at the club's base in Naturena on Wednesday.
"It’s been one of those achievements that I was looking for as a player personally, so winning a cup with a brand like Kaizer Chiefs is one major achievement for me and for the club as well.
"It has been a while not winning a cup, so there were talks that 10 [years without a trophy], blah, blah, blah. But yes, I’m one player that is in the history books that I have won a trophy for the club," he continued.
