Kaizer Chiefs have been sucked into discussions about making a goalkeeping signing ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Chiefs splashed money for the transfer of Fiacre Ntwari at the beginning of last season following the non-renewal of legendary goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune’s contract.

The expectation was that Ntwari would establish himself as the clear first choice but didn’t make good of his chance at the start of the season and has since not played for seven months.
He kept just a single clean sheet in seven games and conceded 11.
For any new goalkeeper to be signed – which is what has been recommended in the technical team – then the Rwandan has to be sacrificed.
There have been transfer possibilities raised around his name.
Chiefs also have Bruce Bvuma – who got the most minutes last season, playing 23 matches.
He conceded 23 and kept eight clean sheets and there remains elements of questions about if he is the perfect fit to stand as first choice at the club.
This explains why prior to his chance last season, it was Brandon Petersen first.
The latter played twice in November and December before Bvuma was handed his opportunity.
Then, towards the end of the season, Petersen was brought back to play in the Nedbank Cup final and the last two league games.
The 30-year-old has now spent five years at Chiefs.
This website has now established that there have been conversations around the goalkeeping department at Naturena.
The club’s management is content with continuing with the options that they have, but there are voices with different opinions from within the club.

This is why there have already been names of goalkeepers being thrown at the Soweto giants from all over.
Chiefs have decisions to make in that department led by Ilyes Mzoughi.
