Following the inconsistencies that marked last season for Ashley Du Preez, the speedy attacker has set an ambitious target for Kaizer Chiefs, who begin their new campaign on Sunday.
After a ninth-place finish last season, Chiefs will be aiming to redeem themselves, and that starts with the trip to Athlone Stadium to face Stellenbosch FC.

The Soweto giants collected three wins from their three meetings with the Winelands outfit last season. However, last season's MTN8 finalists will also be feeling confident, having finished third, six spots higher than Nasreddine Nabi’s men, in 2024/25.
Speaking to the club’s media ahead of the match, Du Preez reckons they have what it takes to put in an improved showing.
"For me personally, I couldn’t wait for the league to start, everyone to start on a clean pitch and write history," declared the 28-year-old.
"But for us as a club, I think we can start competing for the league with the first game.
"The pre-season friendlies we played in the Netherlands were amazing, and we learnt a lot from them, and I think we can take that experience to the league.

"The way we played against the highest-level teams in the Netherlands, it was a good pre-season.
"We as a team look good together. In camp, we have energy, we have the same mindset in terms of what we want to achieve this season, so we just need to take that pre-season into the league and play every game on the highest level and compete," he continued.
The Stellenbosch native added that he, together with his teammates, is excited about the new season.
Kick-off is at 17:30.
