BROUHAHA: 'Abuyile Amakhosi!'

An ex-Kaizer Chiefs attacker has expressed confidence in the current Amakhosi squad, suggesting they have the potential to bring happiness to the club's supporters this season.

So far, Chiefs have only dropped just two points from their four league matches played, and importantly, are yet to concede.

"The glory days are back in Naturena! Abuyile Amakhosi! Now we have restored our style of play," states an upbeat Dennis Vukubi, the former striker.

He also touched on the resurgence of Gaston Sirino, who netted the winner in a recent 1-0 win over Richards Bay FC.

"When you join Kaizer Chiefs, you must understand the pressure that comes with it. Look at Jabu Pule (now Mahlangu) when he came in. Despite being so young, he grasped the significance of representing Chiefs.

"That's what we are seeing in the current Chiefs team."

Vukubi also praised the defence, drawing parallels to the tenacity of former stalwarts, such as Jacob Tshisevhe and Lucas Radebe.

The Soweto giants face Golden Arrows at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 18:00.
