Netflix is set to premiere a five-part docuseries about the murder of former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa! Find out more.

A story worth telling

The ex-Orlando Pirates shot-stopper was tragically shot dead at his girlfriend Kelly Khumalo's house in Vosloorus in October 2014. 

The investigation into his murder has proven to be extremely strenuous on his loved ones and fans alike, as his alleged killers were only caught in 2021, despite there being six witnessing during that fatal evening.

What we know so far

The production is set to premiere on Netflix on 7 April 2022, and the show will feature sports broadcaster Robert Marawa, former Hawks head Shadrack Sibiya, Advocate Gerrie Nel, and Meyiwa's family members.

The latest on the case

Coincidently, the deceased goalie's murder trial is also set to begin next month as the five accused men appeared at the Pretoria High Court on 25 October 2021, where they were given a trial date.

After the case had initially gone cold and there were suggestions of a cover-up, Muzikawukhulelwa S'Tembu Sibiya, Bongani Sandiso Ntanzi, Mthobisi Prince Mncube, Mthokoziseni Ziphozonke Maphisa, and Sifisokuhle Sifiso Nkani Ntuli were all charged with killing the former baller in an alleged botched robbery, according to News24.

Did you know?

Ntanzi, the man who allegedly pulled the trigger, is said to be a hitman, who was found guilty of murdering six people, including an ANC ward councillor, per News24.
