South Africans will be conflicted about who to vote for as many of their own are gunning for the same award as the famed football coach.
The nomination is a huge milestone on its own as it's rare to find a footballer, let alone a manager, being nominated for an award that isn't soccer-related. This speaks to the stature of the Al Ahly boss, who is now the face of Africa in the sport.

South Africans dominating
The ceremony is set to be held on 7 April and the former Mamelodi Sundowns man will have to overcome South African musicians Makhadzi, Focalistic and the Major League DJs, in addition to Nigerian sensation Tems.
That is a stellar list of nominees by all accounts as Major League and Focalistic has been pushing the Amapiano movement to their world, having toured Europe and the United States introducing the Mzansi music genre to the international market.
Makhadzi, meanwhile, has dominated charts for quite some time now and has reached groundbreaking numbers on various digital streaming platforms, thus her nomination this year.
The Nigerian touch
West African songstress Tems is a global sensation, who has worked alongside US singers such as Khalid, Brent Faiyaz and the worldwide acclaimed Wizkid, who is a countryman of hers.
