Bongokuhle Hlongwane's perfect adjustment

South African star Bongokuhle Hlongwane has settled in quite comfortably in the United States since his move from Maritzburg United. Here's a look!

The 21-year-old joined Minnesota United in January €455 000 (R7.6 million), according to Transfermarkt. By the looks of things, he has adjusted very well in the state that is famous for its lakes and forests.

First impressions

One of the first things the youngster did upon his arrival at the Saint Paul outfit was to feast on a bulky tomahawk ribeye! Whether it was a familiar experience or not, it sure was the kind of content South Africans wanted to see.

Representing the nation well

The KwaZulu-Natal native, who also seems to wear glasses off the pitch, most likely made many South Africans proud when he raised the national flag at one of his first photoshoots for the club.

Similar to Percy Tau when he was at Brighton Hove Albion, Hlongwane has also been given massive attention by the people of his country on his club's social media accounts. Locals have been commenting and interacting heavily with his team's Facebook page, often praising and joking about the star.

Did you know?

KICKOFF understands that prior to his move abroad, Hlongwane was on the wanted list of Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and AmaZulu.

Your thoughts, please?

Playing as a forward and having already scored in a pre-season friendly, how many goals do you think Hlongwane will score in his debut campaign?
