Tinkler's future at Pirates is under the spotlight following the team's CAF Confederation Cup Final loss to Etoile du Sahel in Tunisia on the weekend.
The former Bafana Bafana midfielder has ruled out quitting the Sea Robbers, whose continental exploits have affected their performance in domestic competition.
Bucs are 11th in the Absa Premiership standings ahead of their next League clash with high-flying Mamelodi Sundowns on December 20.
"He is a good coach... Eric is a good coach," says Gabuza.
"He still needs time to show himself what he is capable of doing in life [as a coach].
"I am happy he is still around and is still going to continue coaching at Pirates."
