Zamalek coach Jamie Pacheco vows to win the CAF Champions League

The White Knights suffered a last-minute defeat to their fierce city rivals in November in the fixture dubbed the Derby of the Century in Cairo.

And after a strong start to the new campaign that sees them level on points with Mosimane's star-studded squad, Pacheco is confident he's capable of securing Africa's elite club competition.

"This season we will reach the Champions League final and we will win the title; this is our main target; this is what I always tell the players; it is why I'm here - because I want to be the champion," he told Al Nahar One.

"We have to win the league this season, it's not right to be behind Ahly by 20 points in the league [as was the case last season]. Zamalek has achieved the same number of points Ahly collected since I arrived.

"Al-Ahly has spent millions on players, specifically in attack and defence, and we will don't offer [as] strong contracts. We are content with loans and despite that, we are equal in the number of points in the league."
