Rhulani Mokwena highlights Ramadan blessing in Egypt

Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Rhulani Mokwena is happy with the reception the club has received in Egypt as they turn their focus to the CAF Champions League match against Al Ahly on Saturday.

Sundowns left the country for Cairo on Tuesday and held their first training session late last night.

The Brazilians are set to host the Red Devils for a return match on May 22 at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

Bafana Ba Style co-coach Rhulani Mokwena says the period of Ramadan in Egypt has allowed them a quiet space to prepare well for the quarter-final against.

"It's good to come to Cairo in a very different climate in the sense that the country is still going through Ramadan and there is not as much traffic, particularly during the day," said Mokwena.

"It gives a little bit more energy to focus and understand we are here to do a national assignment.

"The climate that is surrounding at this moment in time is not as noisy as one would normally expect in Cairo. It's good, it allows us to find our feet, it allows us to have mental stability and focus.

"At this moment in time the mental state of our players is very good, the team looks energised for the cause and knows what we are here for, the responsibility that we are carrying."

Sundowns are expected to welcome back Themba Zwane and Sphelele Mkhulisi after the pair after missed the league match against TS Galaxy in Mbombela on Sunday due to injury and suspension respectively.
