Manqoba Mngqithi confident Mamelodi Sundowns can overturn Al Ahly

Sundowns need to beat the Egyptian side coaches by their former mentor by at least three goals to advance to the last four of the CAF Champions League.

The Brazilians enter the game against the Red Devils trailing 2-0 following their defeat in the first round played in Cairo last week.

Mngqithi is confident his team can turn the results into their favour and will be banking on the return of Themba Zwane to inspire his charges.

"We have a bigger responsibility to make sure that at the end of the day we achieve the outcome we want," he said ahead of the second leg.

"I am very confident and optimistic that if we apply ourselves and stay focused and we improve on the kind of mistakes we made – we don't normally do those mistakes – and if you don't do those kind of mistakes, you win matches.

"I am still excited the way the team performed in Cairo because I don't think we have ever performed like that away from home, and it's unfortunate to concede those types of goals we conceded.

"Because in my opinion you can't have the ball possession in Cairo if you don't play well."
